Plasma King Crab by Charles Matz is a flame-worked borosilicate glass sculpture filled with noble gases that glow when the piece is energized, the same principle as neon but shaped as a life-size king crab with articulated legs and claws. The glow shifts in color and moves inside the glass as the gas reacts.

The sculpture comes with the electronics that light it; plug in and it runs. One of a kind, made at Ignite Glass Studios in Chicago.
