Twisted Reality

Though this panel won’t move from where you display it, it will deceive your eyes. By placing opposing twisted glass canes next to one another Kim has created an optical illusion that generates the mirage of movement. This design was created out of repurposed discarded twisted glass canes found around Ignite Glass Studios. The glass cane are fully fused together by firing the kiln up to 1425° resulting in the panel you see here.

Kim fused glass artwork is inspired by the idea of recycling and repurposing discarded unwanted leftover glass materials and transforming them into beautiful eye catching works of art. Each piece is handmade in Chicago, IL.
