On Time Arrival
You’ll want to arrive at least 10-15 minutes early to check-in, sign our studio waiver and explore our gallery and gift shop. Please be mindful of Chicago traffic, construction, festivals and other activities. There is some free street parking available and we are also a short walk from the Green/Pink Lines (Lake & Ashland Station). Experiences are scheduled back-to-back every 30 minutes, so, a late arrival means less time with our artist which can alter how much hands-on activity you’ll be able to experience. If you are 15+ minutes late, we unfortunately will not be able to offer a hands-on experience.
Safety Precautions
For safety reasons, it is required to wear closed-toe shoes and non-flammable clothing such as cotton (i.e. jeans and t-shirt are great). If you need a t-shirt we have Ignite Tees for sale in the gift shop! Please don’t wear yoga pants, other synthetics or loose fitting/flowy clothing. We can only allow those dressed appropriately to work with hot glass. Upon arrival each student will also be required to wear safety glasses, which Ignite will provide.
Rescheduling Policy
Classes may be rescheduled up to 5 days before your appointment for a fee of $20 per participant. We are not able to reschedule classes less than 5 days before your appointment. Ignite does not offer refunds for cancelled or missed classes.
Piece Pick Up
Your glass creation will be ready for pick-up 5 days after your visit. Shipping is available for an additional fee. We are not responsible for pieces not picked up within 45 days of your visit.
Age Requirement
Due to the potentially dangerous nature of working with hot glass, we require that all participants be over the age of 12. If under 18, participants must be accompanied by an adult and a parent or guardian must sign a Liability Waiver on behalf of their underage dependent.
Expectations of Finished Products
While glass is beautiful it is not perfect. Your piece will be unique and will not be without flaws. Color, size, shape variations as well as bubbles are all a normal part of the glassmaking process. Handmade glass product will not be precisely exact nor an identical match to anything, but that is part of the uniqueness, beauty and value in having something hand made.
