Ayanna

This vibrant fusing is called Ayanna and is part of a 4 part series called The Squad– inspired by the four democratic women elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2018. Ayanna is named for Ayanna Pressley- the first black woman to be elected to Boston’s city council and the first black congresswoman to represent Massachusetts. This artwork is composed of a variety of blue canes fused at 1460° F, and can be displayed in different orientations.
