This design was created by cutting discarded 6 inch veiled glass canes found around Ignite Glass Studios into 1/2in cane chunks. These cut canes were then assembled next to one another using kiln brick barriers and then fired at 1425°. After cooling off to room temperature the plate is then placed in a mold and fired again slumping the piece into the desired plate shape.;
Kim fused glass artwork is inspired by the idea of recycling and repurposing discarded unwanted leftover glass materials and transforming them into beautiful eye catching works of art. Each piece is handmade in Chicago, IL.
