Rashida

This fiery fusing is called Rashida and is part of a 4 part series called The Squad– inspired by the four democratic women elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2018. Rashida is named for Rashida Tlaib, who is the first Palestinian-American women to serve in Congress. She and Omar are also the first two Muslim women elected to Congress. This artwork is composed of a variety of red and orange canes fused at 1460° F, and can be displayed in different orientations.
