Inspired by their son’s passion for glassblowing, Trish and Glen Tullman developed a deep appreciation for this time-honored craft and the exquisite art it produces. This, combined with their understanding of the power this collaborative art form has to inspire and transform young people’s lives, led them to build Ignite Glass Studios, a state-of-the-art glass studio in Chicago. Their vision is to build a thriving glass art community in Chicago as well as provide a space where professional artists can create and grow and novices can experiment and learn about this beautiful art form. Ignite Glass Studios was founded to achieve a simple mission:
What We Do
Ignite Glass Studios is a state-of-the-art glass studio, educational facility, and event space located in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood. To attract people of all ages and skill levels – from the beginning student to professional artist – we offer a world-class working environment in our Hot and Cold Shops and a wide range of services including group and private instruction, workshops, demonstrations, group team-building events, and professional bench rentals. To enhance our educational mission, we regularly open our doors to school groups for tours and demonstrations.
Our gallery space houses rotating exhibitions featuring the work of renowned glass artists who have helped Ignite grow, the work of our gifted team of resident glass artisans, and pieces from our hand-blown Signature Line.
Ignite also can be transformed into a unique and flexible venue for private, corporate and community events. Our primary space, which is adjacent to the glassblowing studio, can accommodate up to 250 seated guests. We also offer an outdoor garden, a rooftop deck, and a conference room, totaling approximately 9,000 square feet. Ignite’s one-of-a-kind environment is ideal for any special event.
We welcome all glass art enthusiasts – whether they want to create, experience or simply admire – to share our passion for the art and magic of glassmaking.
